Serious Fun: Libraries Offer New Classes in April
Learn about popular apps and websites and help answer some of the common questions that come up in the ever-changing digital world.

Bernards Township Library and Bernardsville Library are pleased to announce the next classes in their series, “Serious Fun: Use Your Device to Improve Your Life." The classes highlight popular apps and websites and help answer some of the common questions that come up in the ever-changing digital world. The two new classes to be offered in April are: "Top Apps for Readers" and "Communicating Through Popular Teen Apps."
"Top Apps for Readers" will be taught by Karen Vaias, Supervising Librarian-Reference, Bernards Township Library, on Monday, April 2 at 7:00 pm at Bernards Township Library and Thursday, April 12 at 10:30 am at Bernardsville Public Library. Learn how your phone or tablet can enrich your reading. Discover apps that provide a wealth of free or inexpensive books; find reviews; share book picks with friends; and save and easily access online articles. Ms. Vaias will discuss general reading apps as well as specialized ones that focus on Classics, Romance and more.
"Communicating Through Popular Teen Apps" will be taught by Kat Carty, Youth Services Supervisor, Bernardsville Library, on Monday, April 16 at 7:00 pm at Bernardsville Library and Thursday, April 26 at 10:30 am at Bernards Township Library. From messaging apps that delete conversations on a timer to social networks that stream live video, teens have an ever-increasing number of app obsessions. So why are they having all the fun? From signing up to logging out, this class will go over the tips and tricks to understanding and communicating through popular teen apps.
All the classes are free and advance registration is requested. To sign up for a class, go to seriousfunlibraries.org. For further details on all the classes, go to seriousfunlibraries.org or call one of the libraries directly.
