Serious Fun: Use Your Device to Improve Your Life

Classes which highlight popular apps and websites and help answer some of the questions that come up.

It can be hard to keep up with the ever-changing digital world, and so Bernards Township Library and Bernardsville Library are teaming up to offer a series of classes “Serious Fun: Use Your Device to Improve Your Life," which will highlight popular apps and websites and help answer some of the questions that come up. The classes will cover a variety of topics and will kick off in March 2017.

"We tried to select areas with wide interest and appeal," said both Library Directors, "Our teachers are all library staff members who have a special interest in the mobile apps and websites which they will discuss."
The six classes will cover the organizational tools in smartphones, LinkedIn, cooking, travel, video chat, and managing digital photos. Each class will be offered once in both libraries—one morning and one evening session. There will be a limited number of laptops available at each library, but participants are encouraged to bring their own smartphones, laptops or tablets, depending on the class topic. Attendance will be limited and advance registration is required.

The first two classes will be "Organize Your Life With Your Smart Phone," taught by Karen Vaias, Reference Librarian at Bernards Township Library (first class on March 7 at 7:00 pm), and "There's (Another) App For That? Making LinkedIn Mobile Work For You," taught by Alexandria Arnold, Director of Bernardsville Library (first class on March 15 at 7:00 pm). For dates, times and locations of all the classes and to sign up, go to seriousfun2017.wixsite.com/libraries.
