SOMERVILLE, NJ - Somerset County invites you to explore our county’s rich past, learn what life was like here between 50 and 200 years ago, and discover our Revolutionary War history during the 2021 Journey Through the Past. Somerset County’s rich history helped designate the county as a Crossroads of the American Revolution State Heritage Area.

“Because Somerset County is proud of our rich heritage, we celebrate it every fall through our Journey Through the Past event, when many historic sites are open to the public, free of charge,” said Commissioner Melonie Marano, Cultural and Heritage liaison. “Whether you prefer the social interaction of visiting historic sites in person, our award-winning virtual experience, or self-guided driving tours, the 2021 Somerset County Journey Through the Past has you covered.”

Before traveling, participants are invited to explore www.visitsomersetnj.org  to find restaurants, shops, and parks that they might want to include in their weekend. Somerset County has everything you need to make your Journey Through the Past an adventure to remember.
