Somerset County Government: Somerset County Office On Aging & Disability Accepting Nominations For 2021 Disability Advocates Awards

SOMERVILLE, NJ – Currently, the Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services is accepting nominations for the 2021 Disability Advocates Awards. Residents should nominate individuals, organizations or businesses that demonstrate exemplary support for persons with disabilities through advocacy, service and inclusion that supports independence and fosters empowerment. Previous winners and Somerset County employees are not eligible to apply. The deadline for nominations is Monday, Nov. 8.

“We need to continue to support and reward the efforts of advocates for persons with disabilities who have been fighting for these people to  have better access, more rights and greater inclusion so they can live a better quality of life,” said Somerset County Commissioner Paul Drake. “When persons with disabilities can fully exercise their right to make choices and freely participate in their lives it becomes a greater asset to our communities and businesses.”
