Somerset Hills Community Chorus Signups 2014-2015
Opportunities to sing for ages 14+ this fall and spring! Enroll today!

Music in the Somerset Hills is pleased to present a high level, extraordinary concert series this season. As part of the series, we will feature two concerts with the Somerset Hills Community Chorus. There will be a concert of holiday works, including the Rutter “Gloria”, with organ and brass on Saturday, December 13 at 7pm at St. John on the Mountain in Bernardsville. The spring concert will be the St. John Passion by JS Bach with a full baroque orchestra and world class soloists, including American soprano legend Julianne Baird on Sunday, March 22 at 2pm at Delbarton’s St. Mary’s Abbey.
The Somerset Hills Community Chorus was developed to help ALL who love to sing become better singers in supportive yet challenging environment. You do not need to have previous experience, but please know you will be challenged in a very supportive way. Every effort is made to ensure everyone is comfortable with the music as soon as possible. Online practice files are provided and seating near an experienced professional is possible as well.
Rehearsals are every Monday evening from 7-9pm between September 29, 2014 and March 16, 2015, with a break for the Holidays from December 15 to 29. Rehearsals take place at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Gladstone. Because of the compact nature of this season, we are asking everyone to sign up for the entire season so we may start rehearsing our spring repertoire as soon as possible.

Participants are asked to make a suggested donation to MISH (a tax-exempt organization) of $350 for the season of two concerts and rehearsals, payable as $200 in October and $150 in January. If that is not possible, we allow you to sell tickets to the concerts for the same amount. Students between the ages of 14-18 participate for free, but are asked to offer tickets to family and friends as much as possible. If you are only able to sing for one of the concerts due to extenuating circumstances, please contact the artistic director, Stephen Sands, at Stephen@MusicSH.org to talk about options.
