Space & Astronomy Day - Saturday Nov 14th

An afternoon and evening of exciting activities for all who are interested in Space and Astronomy!

The New Jersey Astronomical Association (NJAA) is hosting an event this Saturday afternoon and evening featuring professional speakers and telescope observing of the Sun and the evening sky. The day will begin at Voorhees High School (Glen Gardner, NJ) at 2pm in the afternoon and culminate across the street in Voorhees State Park at the NJAA Observatory in the evening.

Featured will be two professional astronomers – Morgan Rehnberg from the University of Colorado at Boulder and Kimberly Cartier from Penn State University. The day will continue at the New Jersey Astronomical Association, where attendees will be given a tour of the facility including the 26” Cassegrain Telescope – the largest public telescope in New Jersey. Qualified Observers from NJAA will be on hand to answer questions and provide telescope viewing of the night sky as well as conditions permit.

The event is intended for adults and youth grades 5 and above. “This is a perfect opportunity for parents who want to inspire their children in science!”
