Speakers Announced for Smart Future Conference

On Friday, October 17, 2014, the Somerset County Business Partnership, AT&T, and Sita Corp., along with North Highland and Juniper Networks, will present the “Smart Future Conference: How technology being developed in Somerset County will help people live, work, and play smarter.” The conference is scheduled for the AT&T Labs Research at 1 AT&T Way, Bedminster, NJ on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 12:00 Noon until 3:00 P.M.

Somerset County, New Jersey has long been a hub for innovation technologies in the communication and pharmaceutical fields. Building on that rich history of originality and modernization, the conference will showcase Somerset County’s ongoing commitment to ensuring a smart and productive future.

Participants will experience the future of innovation and how to transform business operations to gain and maintain a competitive advantage by increasing operational efficiencies, enhancing safety and security, improving the customer and end-user experience, and generating new revenue streams.

The conference will include demonstrations by industry experts, interactive exhibits, and a virtual trade show that will provide participants a look into the future.

Keynote speaker will be Stephen Burger, Area Vice President, AT&T Mobility/Emerging Devices who will present “AT&T Emerging Devices Organization – Beyond the Smartphone” that will address the theory that mobile broadband is on the brink of exploding.

According to industry analysts, new developments in broadband and wireless connectivity to everyday consumer electronics and machine-to-machine devices will help lead the next generation in new products and technologies that will drive up consumer demand. Emerging mobile connectivity for these new products and services are expected to define the competitive environment in the United States for the next 10 years.

A series of presentations and demonstrations by some of New Jersey’s most renowned innovation leaders will follow.

Rom Reddy, President and CEO of SITA Corp. will address trends that will be of importance in the next ten years including worldwide deployment and access to data through a worldwide infrastructure, the increasing importance of mobile devices, and the need for business to look ahead to compete and survive.

Darryl Ramsey, Senior Business Development Strategist – US Government, Education and Medical (GEM) will present “The Power of the Connected World: Juniper Networks and the Garden State.”

Matt Julian, Principal at North Highland will discuss “Improving Technology Adoption with Effective Branding,” addressing the concept of simplicity as a competitive advantage and engaging employees on change initiatives to articulate a clear and compelling vision.

SPEAKER BACKGROUNDER

Steve Burger is Area Vice President of Business Development in the Emerging Devices Organization at AT&T. The Emerging Devices team focuses on bringing wireless connectivity to innovative devices including mHealth, wearables, connected car, and connected home. To date, Emerging Devices has certified over 2,000 devices for its retail, wholesale, and hybrid partnerships. Steve leads the business development team for the connected health segment in the consumer market.

Rom Reddy founded Sita Corp. in 1993, creating Sojourner in 2007 with a vision of the potential for mobile enterprise solutions. As President and CEO, he continues to drive the company’s innovations and mission to simplify the complex. Through his career he has worked as a solution architect across a spectrum of industries including manufacturing, publishing, air lines, and high tech.

Darryl Ramsey joined Juniper Networks as a Business Development Manager and Technical Strategist in 2010. He is currently charged with the task of growing and positioning Juniper’s solutions for State and Local Governments in the Americas as well as Global Education customers at multiple leadership and executive levels. Mr. Ramsey applies his extensive knowledge in the Public Sector space including the Intelligence and Emergency Management sectors to develop new and existing Public Safety/Cyber Security focused partnerships and solutions.

Matt Julian is an experienced leader on large program management and business transformation initiatives for global organizations. As a Change Management professional he looks for ways to bring innovation approaches to projects on which he works including his recent effort to blend Marketing techniques with Change Management strategies to encourage employee engagement.
