Sundays at Three: Free Concert with the Michaela McClain Band

Featuring critically-acclaimed, folk-soul singer Michaela McClain, winner of the 2013 "Best Indie Act" at the Jersey Acoustic Music Awards.

Enjoy a free concert with the Michaela McClain Band at Bernardsville Public Library on Sunday, December 10 at 3:00 pm. Ms. McClain, winner of the 2013 "Best Indie Act" at the Jersey Acoustic Music Awards, is a critically-acclaimed, folk-soul singer/songwriter with a "warm groove" and "rich mezzo-soprano voice." The concert will feature her original music and covers ranging from jazz, folk, rock, R&B and the singer/songwriter genre. Her original music is influenced by all the great musicians she has admired over the years. There is something for everybody in this show!

Growing up in a musical family in Bernardsville and the youngest of six singing sisters, Ms. McClain performed widely in choirs, concerts, and special events throughout her young life. In 2011, she began writing and performing her own music, touring extensively throughout New York and New Jersey with drummer Meredith Foreman, guitarist Raul Abbad, and bassist Brad Schwartzseid. Since the formation of The Michaela McClain Band, she has performed over two hundred live concerts, with her band and in intimate solo engagements.

A trained musician from Montclair State University's prestigious John J. Cali School of Music, McClain has released three EPs ("Bittersweet Melodies," "Michaela McClain: The Dallas Sessions," and "Michaela McClain: The Manhattan Sessions"), several music videos (including "Cold Hearts" and "No More Blues"), and a full-length CD/DVD, "Michaela McClain: Live at Blue Light Sessions." Her music is featured on Sirius FM, in well-known listening rooms and at various music festivals. She is a full member of The New York Songwriters Circle at New York City's The Bitter End, the oldest, most-established showcase in the country for great original music. She is also a devoted teacher and voice coach.
