The vehicles were locked and the suspects fled after being unable to get inside. No one was injured and nothing was reported stolen, according to police.
"Police have not concluded that the two incidents are related, but they have similarities in that they both occurred during the early morning hours and within a few days of each other," Valentine said.
Valentine is reminding residents to be extra vigilant in the coming weeks.
“There have been past incidents in this area where the thieves return numerous times to the same general vicinity to commit additional crimes. If you see something suspicious, report it,” said Valentine.
Residents who live in isolated areas can leave outside lights on to provide extra security during darkness to increase the likelihood that would be thieves might be detected or deterred.
Police have also increased the frequency of patrols in areas where previous thefts have occurred.
