'Very Large' Bear Spotted In Far Hills

A "very large" bear was reported in the area of Lake Road, according to the Far Hills Police blotter.

Far Hills, NJ - A "very large" bear was reported in the area of Lake Road, according to the Far Hills Police blotter.

On July 2 at 10:28 a.m., a resident on Lake Road reported to police that he observed a very large bear on his property.

By the time police had arrived, the bear had run off into the woods and was no longer on the property. Police advised the caller to avoid any contact with the bear in the future.

On July 1 at 10:33 p.m., Anthony Woolford, 49, of East Orange, was stopped by Far Hills Police. Upon further investigation his NJ driver’s license was found to be suspended. He was subsequently arrested, processed and issued a summons for suspended driver’s license.

On July 2 at 3:48 a.m., The Far Hills Police were dispatched to the general area of the Far Hills Train Station for a complaint of individuals being loud. Far Hills Officer checked the area and businesses in that area with no findings. A check of the train station and platform was conducted with no signs of noise disturbances. I then patrolled the surrounding area. SCCC was notified. Caller stated he did not wish to talk to an Officer or provide a name. NFAT

On July 3 at 5:01 p.m., The Far Hills Police Department was dispatched to the area of Rt 202 and the train station for the report of a suspicious vehicle. The caller advised that a blue pick-up truck was driving around the parking lot of the train station making a lot of noise. The caller thought that the occupants may have been setting off fire works. The officer proceeded to the parking lot of the train station and searched the area and was unable to locate any vehicle matching the description.

On July 3 at 10:23 p.m., Jaqway Lloyd, 23, of Paterson, was stopped by Far Hills Police. Upon further investigation his NJ driver’s license was found to be suspended. He was subsequently arrested, processed and issued a summons for suspended driver’s license.
