$1,000 In Change Missing After Car Towed In Bloomfield: Police

Nearly $1,000 in change went missing after a vehicle was towed in Bloomfield, police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Nearly $1,000 in change went missing after a vehicle was towed earlier this month in Bloomfield, police said.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the incident was reported on Oct. 18. Police released the following statement:

“Officers responded to Federal Plaza on report of a theft from auto. A resident’s vehicle was parked in front of his residence. At some point, the vehicle was involved in an accident and towed. When he went to retrieve the vehicle from the tow yard, he noticed the trunk was open due to the accident damage. He then observed the lid of a plastic container he had in his truck was found on the ground. This specific container held approximately $1,000 in loose change. There are no suspect(s) identified at this time. This investigation is ongoing.”
