BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Two burglaries were recently reported in Bloomfield, authorities announced Thursday.

The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about each incident.

Aug. 8 – Officers responded to the 200-block of Franklin Street after getting a report about two package thefts. Detectives later determined that the suspect entered the apartment building through a window and took the packages, which contained clothing valued at $80. The suspected burglar, a 57-year-old East Orange resident, was arrested and processed accordingly, police said.

Aug. 12 – Officers responded to the 200-block of Grove Street after getting a report about a burglary. A resident who rents a storage unit there said he last visited it about two weeks ago. After his most recent visit, he noticed that someone rummaged through it and about $2,000 worth of items were missing: a gaming console, an air compressor, an impact wrench and a remote-controlled car. The theft is under investigation, police said.
