2 Car Thefts Each Took 2 Minutes: Bloomfield Police

All it took was two minutes, Bloomfield police say.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — All it took was two minutes. That’s how long it took for a pair of separate car thefts to take place earlier this month, according to the Bloomfield Police Department.

Bloomfield police provided the following statements about a pair of recent auto thefts in the township:

  • Dec. 19 – “An officer responded to North 15th Street on a report of a motor vehicle theft. Upon arrival, the complainant stated he went inside of a store for two minutes and when he came out his vehicle was missing. The vehicle was left unlocked, the door ajar and the keys in the ignition. The vehicle was entered NCIC stolen.”
  • Dec. 23 – “A resident from 55 Bloomfield Avenue reports that he left his Silver 2009 Infiniti FX35 running at approximately 1:30 p.m. and went inside the house for two minutes. When he came back out the vehicle was gone. The vehicle contained approximately $3,000 worth of mechanic tools. The vehicle was entered NCIC stolen.”
