2 Cars Stolen In Bloomfield; Left Running With Keys Inside: PD

Vehicles were stolen on Ridge Avenue and a 7-Eleven in Bloomfield. Both were left running with the keys inside, police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A pair of vehicles were recently stolen on Ridge Avenue and a local 7-Eleven in Bloomfield. Both were left running with the keys inside, police said.

The Bloomfield Police Department released the following statements about each theft:

Nov. 15 – “Officers responded to 122 Bloomfield Avenue (7-Eleven) on a report of a stolen auto. The owner of the vehicle parked her blue 2021 Honda CRV running with the keys inside. While she was inside the establishment, she observed an unidentified male exit a gray, two-door Acura TL. The suspect then gets into her vehicle and flees east on Bloomfield Avenue. This vehicle was entered NCIC stolen. This incident is under investigation.”

Nov. 21 – “Officers responded to Ridge Avenue on report of a stolen motor vehicle. The owner of the vehicle left his silver 2008 Honda CRV running with the keys inside. While he was inside his friend’s residence for approximately 17 minutes, an unidentified male who exited a blue, older-model Honda Civic entered his vehicle and fled the scene on Ridge Avenue. This vehicle was entered NCIC stolen. This incident is under investigation.”
