2 Home Break-Ins Reported In Bloomfield: Police
A Bloomfield resident said a box with $2,000 in jewelry was stolen. There was nothing missing from the other victim's home, police said.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield residents reported two home break-ins last week, authorities announced Thursday.
The Bloomfield Police Department released the following statements about each incident.
Dec. 2 – “Officers responded to the area of Columbus Street on report of a burglary. A resident left his home at 1 p.m., and when he returned at 2:30 p.m., he noticed a box on his bed and a jewelry box missing from the dresser. The jewelry box contained $2,000 in jewelry. This incident is under investigation.”

Dec. 3 – “Officers were approached in the area of Columbus Street by a resident who observed the main front door to her building open and pry marks on the front door to her apartment. There was also damage near the locks on both of the doors. There was nothing missing at the time of the report. This incident is under investigation.”
