2 Home Intrusions Reported In Bloomfield: Police

The suspects in one of the incidents ran away when a Bloomfield resident's dog started to bark, police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Two home intrusions were reported in Bloomfield last week, authorities say.

The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about each incident:

Feb. 23 – “Officers responded to the area of George Street on report of a burglary. According to a resident, a black Audi sedan pulled up and a male entered the driver’s side of his unlocked vehicle and took his garage door opener. The suspects entered his garage and then entered an inner unlocked door which led to his kitchen. The resident’s dog began barking and the suspects fled the scene. This incident is under investigation.”

Feb. 24 – “Officers responded to the 100-block of Beverly Road on report of a burglary. A resident provided security footage of three suspects on his property, one carrying a crowbar. The suspects removed the window screen of the sun room and opened the unlocked glass window. The suspects were not able to gain any further access into the residence due to a locked sliding door. The suspects then exited and checked the front door lock. After being unsuccessful in entering the residence, they fled the scene in a dark sedan. This incident is under investigation.”
