2 Robberies Reported At Bloomfield Businesses: Police

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Two robberies at local businesses were reported in Bloomfield last week, authorities announced Friday.

The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about each incident:

Sept. 2 – “A complainant responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a robbery that occurred at 549 Bloomfield Avenue (Night Jar Dispensary). According to the complainant, a male approached her and attempted to remove a bag of edibles from her hand. After a brief struggle, the complainant fell to the ground, and the male was able to flee with the edibles. The items were valued at $31. This incident is under investigation.”

Sept. 7 – “Officers responded to 600 Bloomfield Avenue (Dollar Tree) on report of a robbery. According to the complainant, a male, who was previously banned from the premises, attempted to leave the store with coffee and sugar without paying. The manager advised the suspect to leave the store and the suspect then punched the manager in the face and fled the scene. This incident is under investigation.”
