2 Vehicle Crimes In Bloomfield: Stolen Car, Theft From Auto

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Two vehicle crimes were reported in Bloomfield last week, one involving an unlocked car and the other involving a car with the key fob left inside, authorities say.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the following incidents recently took place in the township:

Jan. 19 – “Officers responded to the area of Sherman Court on report of a theft from auto. A resident parked her vehicle on the street and left it unlocked. When she returned to her vehicle, she noticed a bag containing school books, AirPods and sneakers was missing. This incident is under investigation.”

Jan. 21 – “Officers responded to the 200-block of Franklin Street on report of a motor vehicle theft. A resident parked his vehicle in his driveway and left the key fob inside. Upon returning to the vehicle the following morning, he noticed it was missing. The vehicle, a white 2021 Mercedes GLE, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.”
