3 Bloomfield Burglaries Reported: No. 1 Chinese Restaurant and North 15th Street Apartments

Bloomfield police are investigating three burglaries that were reported last week in the township.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police are investigating three burglaries that were reported last week in the township, including incidents on North 15th Street and Bloomfield Avenue.

According to police, a tenant residing at an apartment on North15th Street reported his home was burglarized during the daytime hours on Aug. 18. Police said that entry to the apartment was gained by prying the door open, and that $2,000 of gold jewelry and rings were stolen.

A second resident of the apartment building also reported that their home was burglarized while they were on vacation. The front door of the apartment was damaged in that incident, police said.

On Aug. 21, a burglary was reported at the No.1 Chinese Restaurant on Bloomfield Avenue. When police arrived on the scene, they found a shattered front door, but didn’t find any suspects during a check of the interior. A container of quarters was reported missing, police said.
