3 Catalytic Converters Stolen In Bloomfield On Same Day: Police
Here's where the expensive car parts were stolen, police say.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Three catalytic converters were recently stolen off cars in Bloomfield on the same day, authorities say.
The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about the thefts, which took place last Friday:
SUMMIT AVENUE – “Officers responded to the area of Summit Avenue on report of a catalytic converter theft. A resident parked his vehicle near the residence on Feb. 19 at 5 p.m. When he returned to the vehicle the following day, he noticed it was not operating properly. A mechanic confirmed the catalytic converter was missing. This incident is under investigation.”

MARTIN STREET – “Officers responded to the area of Martin Street on report of a catalytic converter theft. A resident parked his vehicle near the residence on Feb. 19 at 4 p.m. When he returned to the vehicle the following morning, he noticed it was not operating properly. A mechanic confirmed the catalytic converter was missing. This incident is under investigation.”
HOWARD STREET – “Officers responded to the area of Howard Street on report of a catalytic converter theft. A resident parked his vehicle near the residence on Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. When he returned to the vehicle the following morning, he noticed it was not operating properly. A mechanic confirmed the catalytic converter was missing. This incident is under investigation.”
