3 Thefts In Bloomfield: T-Mobile, Friendly’s, Stop & Shop

Thefts were reported at T-Mobile, Friendly's and Stop & Shop, Bloomfield police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Three thefts took place at businesses in Bloomfield in the span of three days earlier this month, police said.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the following incidents were recently reported in the township.

FRIENDLY’S

An officer responded to the Friendly’s restaurant at 1243 Broad Street on Sept. 5 after receiving a report of a theft.

The manager told the officer that $910 in cash was missing from a safe on the premises. It was last checked and locked between the hours of 11 p.m. on Sept. 4 and 7 a.m. on Sept. 5.

No additional information was immediately available.

STOP & SHOP

A woman flagged down two officers on routine patrol in the area of Stop & Shop on Franklin Street on Sept. 6, alleging that someone stole her bicycle.

According to the victim, she locked up her brown Huffy mountain bike before entering the store. When she returned, the bike was missing.

Surveillance footage showed a man in a black jacket with grey sleeves and a black hat take the bicycle around 2:33 p.m., authorities said. Police searched the area but didn’t find the suspect.

The bike was valued at $400, authorities said.

T-MOBILE

An officer responded to the T-Mobile store at 411 Broad Street on report of a theft on Sept. 4.

A store employee said two men entered the establishment for help and then started looking around. The suspects then fled with a gold iPhone XS and a JBL speaker worth a combined $1,650, police said.

One suspect was described as a heavyset man with dreadlocks, wearing a bright-colored and striped shirt. The other suspect was a heavyset man wearing a striped, black shirt, black pants and a baseball cap.
