3 Vehicle Thefts Reported In Bloomfield, Police Say: Here’s Where

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Multiple vehicle thefts took place in Bloomfield last week, including an incident that took place outside a local bar, authorities announced Thursday.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the following incidents were recently reported in the township.

April 17 - Officers responded to 36 Broad Street (Gloria’s Bar & Grill) on report of a motor vehicle theft. According to the victim, she gave her keys to the “DJ” from the bar who stated that he needed to retrieve items he left in the car earlier. The keys were returned to her and she placed them in her jacket pocket. Later on, as the victim was ready to leave, she noticed her keys were missing, but the vehicle was still outside. A short time later, she noticed her vehicle was missing. The vehicle is a 2016 grey Mercedes E-Class. The vehicle was entered into NCIC as stolen. This incident is under investigation.

April 18 - Officers responded to the area of Morris Place on report of a motorcycle theft. A resident’s motorcycle was parked in front of the building, but had not seen it since February. The motorcycle is valued at $8,000. The motorcycle was entered into NCIC as stolen. This incident is under investigation.

April 21 - Officers responded to the area of Lackawanna Plaza on report of a stolen vehicle. The owner of the vehicle parked and locked his vehicle at approximately 7:30 a.m. and when he returned at 2:30 p.m., the vehicle was gone. The owner had the vehicle key fob in his possession. The vehicle was entered into NCIC as stolen. This incident is under investigation.
