4 Cars Stolen In Bloomfield: Here’s What Happened, Police Say

Several motor vehicle thefts were reported in Bloomfield last week, authorities said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Several motor vehicle thefts were reported in Bloomfield last week, authorities announced Tuesday.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the following incidents were recently reported in the township.

Nov. 7 – “Officers responded to 547 Bloomfield Avenue on report of a motor vehicle theft. The complainant left his vehicle running and entered a store to pick up food. Upon exiting the store, he noticed his vehicle was missing. The vehicle, a silver 2016 Audi A4, was entered into NCIC as stolen. This incident is under investigation.”

Nov. 8 – “Officers responded to 217 Bloomfield Avenue on report of a motor vehicle theft. The complainant left her vehicle running while she entered a business. Upon returning, she noticed her vehicle was missing. The vehicle, a 2019 red Hyundai Tuscon was entered into NCIC as stolen. This incident is under investigation.”

Nov. 10 – “Officers responded to 171 Bloomfield Avenue (Auto Zone) on report of a stolen motor vehicle. The complainant left his vehicle running in the parking lot and went into the store. When he got to the door of the Auto Zone, he observed his car speed out of the parking lot along with a with a Black BMW. The vehicle, a gray Audi S7, was entered into NCIC as stolen. This incident is under investigation.”

Nov. 12 – “Officers responded to the area of Ella Street and Delaware Avenue on report of a motor vehicle theft in progress. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a resident who had detained one of the suspects. The complainant observed four individuals get into his vehicle, which was parked and running in front of his residence. He then chased and was able to detain one of the suspects, later identified as a 12 year old juvenile from Newark. The others were able to get away with the vehicle. The vehicle, a black 2014 Acura MDX, was entered into NCIC as stolen. This incident is under investigation.”
