4 Cars Stolen In Bloomfield On Same Day: Police

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Four cars were recently stolen in Bloomfield on the same day, police announced Thursday.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the following thefts were reported on Feb. 19.

AUDI A6 - Officers responded to the 400-block of Bloomfield Avenue after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. A resident was sitting in the passenger seat of her husband’s vehicle, when a white sedan pulled up behind her. An unknown man opened the driver's side door, but he fled when he saw her in the passenger seat. The victim left the vehicle to get her husband, leaving her passenger side door open. The suspect circled back and entered her vehicle, then fled the scene. The vehicle, a 2009 Audi A6, was entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as stolen. This incident is under investigation, police said.

DODGE DURANGO - Officers responded to the 100-block of North 15th Street after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. The victim parked her vehicle in front of 24 First Avenue at 8 p.m. When she returned to it the following morning at 6 a.m., it was missing. There was shattered glass where the vehicle was parked. The vehicle, a silver 2018 Dodge Durango, was entered into the NCIC as stolen. This incident is under investigation, police said.

FORD ECONOLINE VAN - Officers responded to the 100-block of Ampere Parkway after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. The owner parked his van in his driveway overnight, and when he went outside the following morning, it was missing. Surveillance footage shows an unknown man exit the passenger side of a white sedan and enter the driver’s side of the van in the driveway. The vehicle, a white 2006 Ford Econoline van, was entered into the NCIC as stolen. This incident is under investigation, police said.

MERCEDES CG - Officers responded to 26 Bloomfield Avenue (Rise Dispensary) after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. The complainant left his vehicle with the engine running in the parking lot while he went inside the store. When he returned approximately 10 minutes later, his vehicle was missing. Security footage shows a man dressed in all black walk into the lot and take the vehicle. The vehicle, a black 2016 Mercedes CC, was entered into the NCIC as stolen. This incident is under investigation, police said.
