4 Stolen Cars In Bloomfield, Including Theft At Dealership: Police

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Four motor vehicle thefts were reported in Bloomfield last week, including one at a local car dealership, police say.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the following incidents were recently reported in the township:

Jan. 29 – “Officers responded to the 100-block of Watsessing Avenue on report of a motor vehicle theft. According to the complainant, at 2:34 a.m., a male broke the window to his vehicle, entered it and fled the scene in the vehicle. The vehicle, a gray 2017 Dodge Challenger, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.”

Jan. 29 – “Officers responded to 318 Bloomfield Avenue (Lynne’s Nissan) on report of a motor vehicle theft. An employee left a vehicle running while he moved other dealership vehicles around the lot. When the complainant returned, he noticed one of the vehicles was missing. The vehicle, a silver 2021 Nissan Rogue, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.”

Jan. 30 – “Officers responded to the area of Arlington Avenue on report of a motor vehicle theft. A resident parked his vehicle in a private parking lot on Jan. 25 and upon returning on Jan. 30, he noticed it was missing. The vehicle, a black 2012 Hyundai Sonata, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.”

Feb. 3 – “Officers responded to the 200-block of Ampere Parkway on report of a motor vehicle theft. The complainant left his vehicle running in front of the residence and observed two males enter it and drive away with it. The vehicle, a white 2019 Honda CRV, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.”
