68-Year-Old Man Found Dead In Watsessing Park: Essex County Prosecutor
A man's deceased body was found in a creek at Watsessing Park, authorities said.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ -- A man's deceased body was found in a creek at Watsessing Park in Essex County on Thursday, authorities said.
The Essex County Sheriff’s Office was notified about the body at 5:38 p.m. The man was later identified as Frank Vergilio, 68, of East Orange.
Vergilio was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:42 p.m. A pending autopsy will determine his cause of death, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.

The county-run Watsessing Park is located in East Orange and Bloomfield. Vergilio's body was found in the East Orange portion of the park.
The Essex County Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the death. No arrests have been made, authorities said Friday.
