$6K Missing After Bloomfield Apartment Burglary: Police
A Bloomfield resident came home to find a front door unlocked and a bedroom door pried off the hinges, police said.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A Bloomfield resident reported that $6,000 in cash was missing after a home burglary last week, authorities said Thursday.
The Bloomfield Police Department released the following statement about the burglary, which took place at an apartment on Walnut Street on Jan. 18:
“Officers responded to the area of Walnut Street on report of a residential burglary. A resident left his apartment at 12:30 p.m. and locked his bedroom door, as well as the two front doors to the residence. Upon returning at 4:30 p.m., he noticed one of the front doors unlocked and the bedroom door was pried off the hinges. The resident reported $6,000 in cash missing from a drawer.”
A police investigation continues, authorities said.
