Active Shooter Drill Is ‘Success’ At Bloomfield College Of MSU

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police conducted an active shooter drill at Bloomfield College of Montclair State University on Wednesday.

Prior to the exercise, authorities advised community members that a large police and emergency responder presence would be in the area. Watch a short video of the drill here.

“Training is crucial when keeping our community safe,” the Bloomfield Police Department stated.

“Today, members of Bloomfield Police, Bloomfied EMS, Bloomfield OEM, Bloomfied Fire, Bloomfield Health Department, Montclair State University Police and Glen Ridge EMS worked in conjunction with Bloomfield College of MSU to conduct a ‘real time’ active shooter drill,” authorities said.

“With the quick response of all agencies and the participation of the students, this drill was a complete success,” police continued. “It was a great opportunity for all of the agencies involved to interact with the college population and demonstrate how the personnel will respond to an emergency situation.”
