Adult Division Of Bloomfield Library Closing To Fix ‘Building Issues’
Children's services remain unchanged at the Bloomfield Public Library. Here's what to know.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The adult division of the Bloomfield Public Library will be closing until the end of the year to take care of some “building-related issues,” staff announced Monday.
Library administrators shared the following advisory about the closure:
“The Bloomfield Adult Library will be closed through the end of the year to manage some building-related issues. We are preparing to provide adult material pick-up to the theater below the Children's Library. Public PCs and adult seating will not be available during this time, but Glen Ridge, Montclair and Nutley libraries, as well as all BCCLS libraries, are aware of the situation and prepared to receive anyone who needs access to a PC or a place to work. Beginning Tuesday, copies can be made in the Children's Library and our reference staff will be on hand there as well to assist our adult patrons with questions. We expect materials pick-up to commence later this week and will post all notices on social media, our webpage, and on the library answering service to keep everyone on top of the latest information. Children’s services remain unchanged.”
Library staff provided an update later in the day:

“For patrons with holds available for pick up, you can now retrieve them from the children’s library during operating hours. All scheduled adult events this week are postponed, with the exception of Mystery Book Club. Book drops at the adult building are closed; all items can be returned at the children's library and in the children's library book drop. Patron printing is available beginning tomorrow, also in the children's library. Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we look forward to serving you.”
