BLOOMFIELD, NJ — More than 125 volunteers recently rolled up their sleeves and joined hands for Bloomfield’s annual spring townwide cleanup event.

Gathering despite rainy weather, the volunteers carried out cleanup efforts at several high-visibility locations in town in celebration of Earth Day, including Watsessing Park, Brookside Park, Pulaski Park, Broad Street and the Bloomfield Train Station area.

Volunteers of all ages pitched in to remove litter, refresh public spaces, and help prepare Bloomfield for the spring season.

The township extended thanks to the Bloomfield Beatification Committee, the department of public works and police/fire departments for their support organizing the April 24 event.

Jane Steffen, chair of the Blomfield Beautification Committee, highlighted the importance of community-driven efforts like this spring’s cleanup.

“Year after year, this event shows the pride people have in Bloomfield,” she said. “Rain or shine, our volunteers step up. These small acts like cleaning a park or clearing a sidewalk make a real, visible difference across our town.”
