ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — An upcoming musical production of “Into the Woods” will benefit a 5-year-old boy in Essex County who has been diagnosed with a rare medical condition.
The Charles Seller Foundation, based in Bloomfield, is raising money through its summer musical for Gino DeVito of Nutley.
According to the foundation, DeVito Gino has been diagnosed with SATB-2 associated syndrome, a condition so rare there are only approximately 550 recorded cases.
Every year, the Charles Seller Foundation selects a local community member who is facing medical challenges as its beneficiary for that coming year. The funds raised primarily from the organization’s summer musical go to that beneficiary to help offset their medical costs.
This year’s production of “Into the Woods” will take place at Bloomfield High School, 160 Broad Street. Shows are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on the following dates: July 30, July 31, Aug. 1, Aug. 6, Aug. 7 and Aug. 8.
Shows are also scheduled for 2 p.m. on Aug. 1 and Aug. 8.
Tickets will be sold at the door, or can be purchased online here.
