BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Bloomfield Police Department will be conducting a DWI sobriety checkpoint on Bloomfield Avenue on Friday, July 31, authorities say.
According to the BPD, statistics show a "disproportionate number of drunk driving incidents" in the area.
"These operations are being conducted to raise awareness of impaired driving by educating motorist and arresting impaired drivers," police said.
Funding for the operation has been provided by the Drunk Driving Enforcement Fund, police noted.
