Local 14U and 10U softball teams showed major progress in county and Denville leagues, while an incoming seventh-grade girls hoops squad tested itself against older opponents in West Orange, building confidence for the coming fall and winter seasons.
• Bloomfield Passes New Ordinance for Inclusivity (tapinto.net) — Bloomfield has adopted a new ordinance requiring all single-occupancy restrooms in public-facing township and covered public facilities to use gender-neutral signage, taking effect 180 days after introduction. Officials and Bloomfield Pride leaders say the change aims to make bathrooms safer and more welcoming for transgender, non-binary, disabled residents, families, and anyone needing flexible access, while aligning the town with similar policies in nearby New Jersey communities.
