• Driver Who Struck and Killed 17-Year-Old Newark Girl in Fatal Hit-And-Run Arrested (tapinto.net) — A Bloomfield man has been arrested and charged after a speeding sedan fatally struck a 17-year-old girl in a Newark hit-and-run on Aug. 9. Investigators say a Newark police sergeant was already following the car on Bloomfield Avenue, and state and county authorities are now separately probing the driver's actions and the police encounter.
   

• Montclair Street Fight Leaves Man Unresponsive, Suspect Attacks Cops: Police (dailyvoice.com) — A Bloomfield man was arrested after Montclair police say a fight near Bloomfield Avenue and South Park Street left another man unresponsive and bleeding from the head. Officers later found the suspect in a nearby parking deck, where he was taken into custody. He now faces multiple aggravated assault charges, including for allegedly fighting officers at headquarters and damaging police property.
