ATV Rider Arrested After Short Chase In Bloomfield
Officers spotted the East Orange man on Leslie Street and stopped him on Hoffman Boulevard.

Bloomfield police arrested an ATV-riding Essex County resident after he led officers on a short chase last week.
On July 16, officers spotted an ATV traveling on Leslie Street around 8:15 p.m., and attempted to pull over the rider, later identified as Qwame Austin, 22, of East Orange.
Instead of pulling over, Austin allegedly made attempts to avoid the officers until they managed to stop him on Hoffman Boulevard.

While detaining Austin, police found a substance believed to be marijuana and placed him under arrest.
Austin was released ROR with a court date pending after being charged with possession of CDS (marijuana under 50 grams), obstruction, driving an ATV on a public street, not wearing a helmet, not having insurance and having an unregistered vehicle.
