ATV Thief Makes Getaway During 'Test Drive,' Bloomfield Cops Say
A gold chain-wearing thief stole an ATV from a Bloomfield man trying to sell it online, zooming away during a "test drive," police said.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A gold chain-wearing thief stole an ATV from a Bloomfield man trying to sell it online, zooming away during a “test drive” last month, authorities said.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the theft took place on July 19 when a Charles Street resident tried to sell an ATV using the letgo app.
The victim told officers that he listed his yellow, Honda 400 EX ATV on the app for $1,500. A person who identified himself as “Tymir Height” replied to the post and said he wanted to buy the vehicle.

When the buyer arrived, the victim let him get on the ATV to take a “test ride” before any money changed hands. And that’s when the man took off, police said.
After he zoomed away at a “high rate of speed” eastbound on Charles Street and never came back, the victim realized he’d been taken for a ride, too, police said.

Police said the ATV thief was described as a man about 40-years-old, wearing a black t-shirt, denim shorts and a gold chain with a Mercedes Benz insignia.
The vehicle was entered as NCIC stolen, authorities said.
