BHS Alumni Football Camp Now Accepting Applications

Attention kids in who love football: The 2nd Annual BHS Alumni Football Camp is coming to Bloomfield this summer!   The one-day-only camp will take place June 23 and is FREE to kids entering 4^th-8^th grade in the upcoming 2012-2013 school year.  

“The 1st Annual BHS Alumni Camp was a huge success because of the great turn out of 25 volunteer alumni coaches,” said camp organizer Anthony Lambo.  “There were BHS Alumni Football players from the 1970's-2000's, which combined had over 200 years of football experience.”

Lambo noted that last year the alumni hosted about 60 kids but this year they expect a turnout of about 100.  He said there will be new drills, competitions, obstacle courses, awards, guest speakers and a Camp DJ.

“I started the camp last year because, as alumni, we have a duty to give back to future Bengals and to be an example of how hard work and dedication will bring you success,” Lambo said.  “Our mission is to help develop self-confidence and character through the fundamentals of football. Although football is the main concentration, we stress academics first!”

The program will start accepting applications tomorrow, April 3 at the Civic Center/Bloomfield Rec. Department Drop Box at 84 Broad Street.  Parents can download and print out the form here.
