Bloomfield Mayor Michael Venezia is running uncontested as a Democratic Party member in 2019. He garnered 1,119 votes in the June primary election.

TOWN COUNCIL

There are three town council seats up for grabs in Bloomfield.

The three candidates - each Democratic Party members - are running unopposed:

  • Wartyna Nina Davis

BOARD OF EDUCATION

There are seven candidates competing for three seats on the Bloomfield Board of Education. Terms last for three years.

Earlier this year, the Essex County Clerk's office announced that the 2019 Bloomfield Board of Education election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 5 as planned, despite the board's recent decision to move its elections to April.

"The Bloomfield Board of Education does not have the authority to supersede state law and stop the election process once it has been started," Essex County Clerk Chris Durkin said. "Furthermore, I cannot in good conscience disenfranchise the candidacies of the seven Bloomfield candidates who took the time to gather signatures from residents, timely submit their petitions and start their campaigns."

The candidates include:

  • Daniel Anderson
  • Jill Fischman
  • Laura Izurieta
  • Lillian Mancheno
  • Satenik Margaryan
  • Benjamin Morse
  • Emily Smith
