Bloomfield Artist Presents 'Spark of Creation' At Oakside Cultural Center

Bloomfield artist Mark AJ Szep will present his new art show, “Spark of Creation,” at the Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center, 240 Belleville Ave.

The exhibit will run from Aug. 1 through Aug. 31, and can be viewed Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with evening viewings by appointment.

An opening reception will be held at Oakside on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The event will include a meet and greet with Szep. Light refreshments will be served.

According to a release, Spark of Creation is a series of black and white abstract paintings that “speaks to that single moment of creation when one drop of paint reaches the canvas and spreads outwards in undulations of expression and creativity.”

Szep has been active in photography and oil painting for almost 15 years. His artwork hangs in private collections and has won awards in local art shows throughout northern New Jersey.
