Bloomfield Bus Rider Reports Armed Robbery At NJ Transit Stop: Police

A 52-year-old man reported that two male suspects robbed him outside the NJ Transit bus station on Broad Street in Bloomfield.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A 52-year-old man reported that two male suspects robbed him outside the NJ Transit bus station on Broad Street in Bloomfield last week, police say.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to a report of a robbery in progress around 10:54 p.m. on Aug. 24 near the area of Franklin and Fremont Streets. On arrival, the officers spoke with the victim, who said that two men in their 20s approached him as he exited the bus.

Police said the victim told officers that the men asked him for a cigarette, then brandished a gun and demanded money. The victim said that he handed over cash and both suspects fled the area on foot.
