BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield is buying the former Roxy Florists property with plans of keeping it as open space, Mayor Michael Venezia announced Tuesday.
Venezia posted the following message about the township’s plans on social media:
“We are in the process of purchasing the former Roxy Florists property. The township plans to keep this property open space. The plans for this property have not been drawn yet, but our vision is to put tables, murals, plants and trees, making it a true open space for our downtown. Once plans are drawn, we will have a community meeting and get the valuable input from the community. Also in regards to the former Heartbreakers property, we are waiting for construction to be completed on the Royal Theatre lot building before we move forward with plans for that space. We will update you as soon as possible on this project.”
