Bloomfield Car Owner Drags Would-Be Thief From Vehicle By Ankles: PD
A car owner in Bloomfield dragged a would-be thief out of his vehicle by the ankles. Here are 3 other recent car crime reported to police.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield saw several vehicle-related crimes last week, including two stolen cars, an attempted vehicle theft and a car burglary, authorities announced Thursday.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the following incidents were recently reported in the township.
Nov. 27 – Officers responded to the 50-block of Valentine Road after getting a report about a burglary and theft from auto. The victim said his power washer and generator were stolen from his work van. A witness stated she noticed four people exit the garage of the victim's home and load a black sedan around 6:30 a.m., police said.

Nov. 29 – Officers responded to 126 Bloomfield Avenue (rear lot) after getting a report about amotor vehicle theft. The victim said that his 2021 Toyota Highlander was stolen while he was unloading items from it. The key fob was in his possession, he told officers.
Dec. 1 – Officers responded to the 70-block of Evergreen Avenue after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. The victim said he left his 2021 Mercedes Benz running in the driveway, when a black Hyundai Tuscon pulled up. One of the occupants of the Hyundai entered the Mercedes Benz and fled the area. The Hyundai was later confirmed to be stolen, police said.

Dec. 2 – Officers responded to the 160-block of Bloomfield Avenue after getting a report about an attempted motor vehicle theft. The victim said he was waiting for his wife, when a man about 17 to 20-years-old approached the driver’s side window of his 2019 BMW. The man told him that his passenger side tire was flat. The victim waited for a brief period, then got out of the car to inspect it. At that point, the man went around him and got into the car through the driver's side door. The car's owner grabbed the man by the ankles and dragged him out of the vehicle. The man fled on foot, then got into a car believed to be a BMW 5 Series sedan and left the scene, police said.
