Bloomfield Celebrates The Holiday Season: Tree Lighting, Family Events

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Looking to get into the holiday spirit in Bloomfield? You’ve got options.

Bloomfield officials recently publicized some of the 2022 holiday events in the township, including the annual Bloomfield Holiday Celebration at Town Hall, 1 Municipal Plaza, at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 5.

In addition to a Christmas tree lighting, the free event will also feature DJ music, a live sculpture artist, family friendly music, activities, games and a visit from Santa, organizers said.

Got plans for that day? There are plenty of other holiday events to mark down on your calendar, according to the Bloomfield Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Department. Upcoming events include:

• Drop & Shop is back! Drop off your kids (Grades K - 6) at the Civic Center so you can go shopping or enjoy a night out on the town. Friday, Dec 2nd and 9th! Pre-registration required.
• Channel your inner Clark W. Grizwold and show us your creativity be participating in our House Decorating contest. The winner will receive a $100 to Angelos Pizzeria. Pictures are due on or before 12/17.
• Our Radio City Music Hall trip is currently full but 53 residents are excited to see the Rockettes and the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center on 12/4.
• Our Board & Brush Workshop scheduled on Wednesday, December 7th still has some availability so please register on or before 11/29.
• The Bloomfield Civic Band will perform along with the Adult and Children's Choir of St Thomas the Apostle Church on Saturday, December 10th at 7pm.
• Winter program registration begins at 9:00am on Wednesday, December 14th. Visit our website for updates.
• Our trip to Hunterdon Hills is currently at maximum capacity and our senior citizens can't wait for this luncheon and musical!
• Our Holiday Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, December 17th at the Civic Center from 1pm to 4pm. While this event is free you must pre-register your family for your selected time slot and pictures with Santa!
