After a great first event in 2020, the Bloomfield Center Alliance is once again inviting shoppers to its Bloomfield Center Holiday Hunt, where attendees will find holiday cheer through shopping, music, and ice sculptures.
The Bloomfield Center Holiday Hunt will start at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11 at the Six Points Plaza located at the intersection of Bloomfield and Glenwood Avenues.

The day will kick-off with holiday music, hot cocoa and pastries from Brandon’s Coffee, and a photo-worthy ‘Bloomfield NJ’ ice sculpture. Upon arrival at the Plaza, attendees will receive a Bloomfield Center Map showing locations of the downtown’s various Holiday Hunt Destinations.
Participating businesses, all of which are located within a short walking distance of the Six Points Plaza, offer a selection of great local gifts for the holidays ranging from boots to bike accessories, beauty products to vintage bags, sneakers to gift cards for fun group experiences like ax throwing.

Individuals who visit 5 or more Holiday Hunt Destinations and/or make purchases over $20 on the day of the Hunt will be entered to win incredible prizes from local businesses (prize details will soon be made public). In an effort to ensure the public’s safety, all visitors will be reminded to wear masks inside any of the stores participating that day.
During the afternoon, shoppers and other visitors will be treated to holiday tunes spun by a deejay and the return of New Jersey’s own “Ice Sculpture King” Jimmy Chiappa who will be doing an exciting live ice carving demonstration. The day will end at 4 p.m. with winners of special prizes to participating shoppers being announced. Warm drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, will be offered in the evening by area restaurants and attendees will receive information on dining options if they choose to eat lunch before the event or stay for dinner afterward. The event is co-sponsored by Provident Bank and Level Up MD Urgent Care.
Visitors will also be encouraged to check out the participating businesses in this year’s Bloomfield Center Holiday Window Design Contest. Now in its fifth year, downtown businesses sign up for this friendly competition where the public helps determine Bloomfield Center’s most festive holiday window. The public can go to BCA’s Facebook page to “Like” their favorite windows starting on December 11th and the winner will be announced on Dec. 23.

Our Holiday Hunt, with its different attractions, delicious treats, and interesting stores is a fun and convenient way for those in our community to experience the holidays with friends and family.”
Kathryn Cummings, co-owner of Jalapeno Cycling, a bike shop on Washington Street shared “We’re excited to participate in the Bloomfield Center Holiday Hunt again this year. We provide a variety of repair and upgrade services for bike owners in the area but also have great gifts - training gear, lights, trail snacks and more for the bike lover in your life.”
