Bloomfield College and Cousins Pizzeria: Essex County Man Charged With Two Burglaries

An East Orange man is accused of burglarizing an Essex County pizzeria in the morning and Bloomfield College that evening.

Authorities arrested an Essex County man after police allegedly caught him burglarizing Bloomfield College on Nov. 26.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to Bloomfield College around 4:10 p.m. on a report of a potential burglary. On arrival, two officers reportedly located Roger Hope, 56, of East Orange, removing power tools from the building.

Police arrested Hope and charged him with burglary and theft. He was held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

After further investigation, the Bloomfield Detective Bureau charged Hope with an attempted burglary of Cousins Pizzeria on Bloomfield Avenue that same day at 11 a.m.
