Bloomfield Cop’s Nose Fractured In Struggle Outside Local Home: Police

Two Bloomfield police officers were injured while struggling with a man who refused to leave his mother's house, authorities said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Two Bloomfield police officers were injured while struggling with a man who refused to leave a relative’s house last week, authorities announced Wednesday.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to the area of Fulton Street on May 4 after getting a call from a resident who wanted her 27-year-old son to leave her home.

The officers spoke with her son, who allegedly refused to leave the premises and began assaulting them. One officer sustained a fractured/broken nose and the other officer sustained minor scrapes and bruises, authorities said.

The officers eventually arrested the woman's son and took him to police headquarters to be processed. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and criminal trespass, authorities said.
