Bloomfield Cops Charge Man With Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend
Bloomfield police arrested a man suspected of smashing his ex-girlfriend's car window and pulling a gun on her as she tried to escape.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police have arrested a man suspected of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, smashing her car window and pulling a gun on her as she tried to escape, authorities said.
On Wednesday, Bloomfield officers and agents from the FBI Fugitive Task Force located and apprehended Alkariem Little, 23, in a Newark basement without incident, authorities said.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, Little is accused of attacking his former girlfriend as she was walking to her car from the Bloomfield College library. The victim managed to lock herself in the car and eventually drive away, but not before Little allegedly tried to force his way inside, smashed the window and pulled a gun from his waistband.

Bloomfield police immediately entered Little as a “wanted person” and issued a warrant for his arrest on charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.
Bloomfield police said that Little has a criminal history including a warrant from the Orange Police Department for attempted murder. Bloomfield detectives coordinated with the police departments in Elizabeth and Union County to find Little.
