Bloomfield Cops Make 4 Marijuana Arrests In 5 Days: Police
All of the arrests were spurred by alleged traffic and safety violations, Bloomfield police say.

Bloomfield, NJ – Bloomfield police made four marijuana-related arrests in five days last week, all of which were spurred by alleged traffic and safety violations, authorities said.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the following arrests took place:
- On Feb. 8, officers arrested a 20-year-old Orange man after conducting a motor vehicle stop for alleged equipment violations. After stopping the vehicle, officers allegedly detected the odor of raw marijuana emanating from the vehicle, which led to the discovery of four bags of marijuana inside the car. Police charged the man with possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and issued a motor vehicle summons for rear stoplight violation.
- On Feb. 10, police arrested an 18-year-old Bloomfield man after allegedly observing a silver Toyota “driving in a careless manner.” After stopping the car, officers found about 10 grams of marijuana in the passenger’s possession. He was charged with possession of marijuana (under 50 grams).
- On Feb. 12, police arrested a 35-year-old Montclair man after conducting a motor vehicle stop in the area of Bloomfield and Park avenues for an allegedly broken brake light. During the stop, officers located a clear plastic bag containing several small clear bags of suspected marijuana, a pipe allegedly used to smoke marijuana and a large amount of small empty baggies. Police charged the man with possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia, and issued him a motor vehicle summons for maintenance of lamps.
- On Feb. 13, police arrested a 25-year-old West Orange man after allegedly observing a Mercury Sable disregard a red traffic signal on Bloomfield Avenue. During the stop, officers found two burned marijuana cigarettes and a container with suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. Police charged the man with possession of CDS marijuana and issued a summons for allegedly disregarding the red light.
