Bloomfield Cops: Man Dozes Off In Car, Wakes Up To Robbery

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A man fell asleep in his car on Bloomfield Avenue last weekend, only to wake up to a robbery in progress, Bloomfield police said.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the victim told an officer that he was sitting in his car on Saturday, Feb. 16 and fell asleep. When he woke up, there were two men trying to get into his vehicle.

The men – who were wearing face masks – allegedly took $105 in cash and fled the scene in a two-door coupe, police said.

Bloomfield police are investigating the incident. No additional information was immediately available.
