Bloomfield Cops Seek Halloween Decoration Thief

A Bloomfield resident reported that someone grabbed $200 worth of Halloween decorations from her neighbor's lawn, police say.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police say that a pair of Halloween decoration thefts took place in the township earlier this month.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to the 100-block of North 16th Street on Oct. 17 after receiving a report about stolen Halloween decorations. On arrival, the officers spoke with a homeowner who said that his neighbor spotted a man stealing an inflatable ghost, inflatable pumpkin and other items from his lawn.

The victim’s neighbor was driving past his home when she saw a man taking the items, police said. She then pulled over and yelled at the man, who ignored her and continued to put the decorations into an “older model” silver Jeep Cherokee.
